Fly – Lightweight WordPress Blog Theme
The theme is really simple and very flexible. You want the sidebar on the left or on the right? It goes where you want it. You don’t like the background color? No problem, you can change it, and you can chose from all the colors in the world. Well you can change almost any color there is: the link color, the text color, the page color. You can change the fonts that display the text, opacity on elements, upload a logo, change the background of the site. It’s really simple, you just have to use the built-in settings panel on the theme options page.
Plugins, menus, shortcodes, slider and the gallery
This theme is created around the awesome WooTumblog plugin that is distributed for free. This adds more post types like audio, video, quote, aside and photo. Now you can publish all your media in an appealing way.
Another free plugin that is used is Share Buttons by Lockerz.
The theme supports two WordPress menus, one at the top, which is the header menu, and the main navigation menu in the sidebar.
Shortcodes are a great feature. You don’t have to use HTML tags to style text. Why? Because shortcodes will style text for you. Headings, lists, uppercase text and more, can be used all in an easy way to implement.
The image slider provided can be used to publish image slides on multiple posts on the same page, from the options panel you can set the height of the slider.
The gallery is created to open the images in Pretty Photo, an awesome looking lightbox plugin. The theme comes packed with a template for archives and another template for the contact form. Setting it to work is as easy as providing an email in the theme admin.
All the settings you want
On a separate admin page you can manage your site’s look and feel through the settings panel. You can change almost all the colors on the site: the link color, the background color, the pages color, the title color and the text color. Here you can add some relevant slogan at the top of the site, or deactivate the slogan, you can change the sidebar position and pick and change the font family of the site. You can chose from Arial, Droid Sans, Droid Serif, Arvo and Georgia. You can change the background of the site, set the slider height, add text to the footer, add analytics. Now you have all the options you need, change is just a click away. Managing your site’s design is really simple.
